This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and/or alteration of the information under our control. Delta Dental uses industry standards, such as firewalls and Secure Socket Layers, to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal identification information. However, "perfect security" does not exist on the Internet.

A Delta Dental identification number (usually Social Security Number) and a last name are required to access the Check Your Benefits feature. (These two pieces of information are also used to access the same information from our customer service department by telephone.) The identification number entry screen and pages displaying the user's dental benefits are secured pages. The secure connection means no one else can view this information without your identification number and last name.

We understand that there is some sensitivity around using Social Security numbers. Social Security numbers are routinely used for patient identification in health care and Delta Dental only uses your number to administer your dental program. There are no legal restrictions or prohibitions on using Social Security numbers for purposes of identification.

Delta Dental uses "cookies" technology on its "Find a Dentist" dental directory and "Check Your Benefits" applications. Delta Dental uses this technology to provide "session management" for these two applications. Session management tracks which page a user was on after submitting a request for information. This technology prevents the user from having to re-enter information each time that he or she looks at a page of output from a request. These applications contain only a "session ID." Delta Dental is not using this technology to store or distribute personal information on users.

Cookies are necessary to operate the Find a Dentist directory and Check Your Benefits application. If you opt to disable the use of cookies, you will not be able to use these applications.
